JUDGE not, that you may not be judged.. Matthew 7.1

A lady in a faded grey dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun suit walked in timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Harvard.

"We want to see the President," the man said softly. "He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped. "We'll wait," the lady replied. For hours the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away.

They didn't and the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president." Maybe if you see them for a few minutes, they'll leave," she said to him. The President, stern faced and with dignity, strutted toward the couple.

The lady told him, "We had a son who attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere in-campus." The president wasn't touched....

He was shocked. "Madam," he said, gruffly, "we can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery.  "Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, and then exclaimed, "A building!" Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical buildings here at Harvard.

"For a moment the lady was silent. The president was pleased. Maybe he! could get rid of them now.

The lady turned to her husband and said quietly,  "Is that all it costs to start a university? Why don't we just start our own?"

Her husband nodded.
The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment.

Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford got up and walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the University that bears their name.
Stanford University, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

Most of the time we judge people by their outer appearance, which can be misleading. And in this impression we only tend to treat people badly .By thinking they can do nothing for us thus we tend to loose our potential good friends, employees or customers.

Carry Ur Cross

"For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" -- Matthew 11.30

Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
There will always be sunshine, after the rain..
Perhaps you may stumble, perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready, to answer your call...
He knows every heartache, sees every tear,
A word from His lips, can calm every fear...
Your sorrows may linger, throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish, in dawn's early light...
The Savior is waiting, somewhere above,
To give you His grace, and send you His Love...
Whatever your cross, whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows after the rain... "

The Revenge of the Chicken ;)

Well, time for another post.. Since all my friends are blogging i ve decided to come up with a stupid post of my own :P
Right from my school days I ve always loved Chicken, not as a pet but as FOOOODD ofcourse!!.. Yummy they are.. incase U ve not tried them, i recommend u do try them atleast once..
Since school I ve been havin Chicken biriyani whenever possible.. After joining Infy, man i was lucky to ve this caterers called "Arun Caterers", specialized ones for biriyani.. 35Rs of heaven it wud be 3 days a week...:):) 3 years i literally gained weight by having tht biriyani only... My frnds used to wonder abt my apetite for biriyani.. However it seemed to increase as everyday passed.. but finally my honeymoon days got over as i had to quit Infy for BIM.. Wel in BIM, it was chicken of a different kind, not biriyani but in every other means eatable (in mess and treats)... I ve never fell ill because of eating Chicken though.. One day wen i woke up from bed, suddenly i decided tht i must reduce my chicken consumption.. It was "Lent" days which made me hold on to my decision easily.. Its been quite a while since lent got over and now i still eat chicken very rarely... :( Now this was not taken lightly by the Chicken folk i guess... 15 days back they attacked me n doctor told me that what i ve got is "Chicken Pox" hmmm..sweet revenge finally for them i suppose... poor me, im unable to strt my summers (not tht im worried abt tht anyway :P) but above all, I ve been made to sit in one room doing nothing for 15 days.. Another sad thing about this is that I cant have chicken for another 3 months :( Well now that u ve listened to this sad story :P I will come to the main reason for this post.. By this post i plead to all my friends that i cant ve chicken for another 2 months and PLZ DONT VE ANY TREATS FOR THE NEXT TWO MONTHS!! :D:D... I guess ppl wil want to come n hit me @ my home for this stupid post but then luckily I ve Chicken pox which wil keep them at bay.. :P Sorry guys, cudn resist the temptation to post coz i see thts the new trend thts been catchin up wid u guys :D:P tatas... :)

The Tendulkar that we know...

Almost an year has passed since I last blogged on Sachin except for the poem which i managed to type in November.. The past year had been one to cherish for all his fans. He was simply unstoppable and it finally culminated with the 200* on 24th February, a day etched in history as the day he fulfilled his destiny..

Only 3 years before, march 24th 2007, the Indian team got kicked out of the World cup in its league stage. The fans went wild attacking and booing their most adored heroes. Few left the scene as new ones entered.. I happened to read a post of Ian Chappel around that time. He had questioned Sachin's commitment and even told that Sachin needs to quit as he is not capable of winning matches for India.."At the moment, he looks like a player trying to eke out a career; build on a glittering array of statistics, if he really is playing for that reason and not to help win as many matches as he can for India, then he is wasting his time and should retire immediately.”, were Chappel's words. I couldn fanthom wat must have been going through the master's mind at that time..
After all Winning the World cup has been his ultimate dream, and when such a dream got bulldozed away, man u need motivation to carry on.. As always he found that motivation from within.. The first tour after the world cup was tht of Bangladesh's. Sachin had a point to prove, though he was not at his best he stuck to the task and saw us through.. After this came a series of ninety's from the master. Match after match he showed glimpses of the Sachin tht we knew of in 1997. India won the CB series finals against the aussies thanks mostly to Sachin. Still his critics were not satisfied. Sachin then became the highest run scorer in tests, which again was destiny. 2009 was simply awesome and toward the fag end of 2009 Aussies were belted like never before. Aussies always brought the best out of Sachin as he plundered 175 and singlehandedly put the Aussies to rest in an epic chase. The world took notice once again. This man had it in him to take it a step further, a place where no batsman had gone before. Yes, it was on the 24th of February 2010; I was studying for my Economics mid trimester exams and watching the live streaming of the match as there was no power in the hostel.. A chance-less innings from the master, 2 records in one match. Again I call it destiny.. Who better than Sachin to break the 200 run barrier.:) To cap it all, the master dedicated it to all of us who stood by him and believed in him..:):) After this i doubt there are any more critics for all have become believers, believers who kno tht this man is the best tht could happen not just to Indian cricket but to cricket as a whole. This was the comment by Ian Chappel now in 2010, "It’s not just the number of runs he’s scored in this prolific period (although four Test centuries in six innings is pretty impressive); rather it’s the manner of his run-gathering. In his scintillating 175 against Australia and the double-century that demolished South Africa, it was his dominance that stood out. Both innings rattled along at much better than a run-a-ball,s and when he is regularly punching drives off the back foot you know Tendulkar is master of all he surveys."
How things have changed from 2007 to 2010.! Its hard to believe people commented and had doubt on the India’s biggest icon and most favourite son. At his present form, I feel the only chance for India to win the T20 world cup is by having him in the team. Its about time we let the master enjoy every game he plays for Us and hopefully wait for the World cup to be ours which would make it even more memorable for him. Things have turned around again and we now see the Tendulkar of the past we always knew of..To conclude everything there can’t be better sayings than these that follow. Firstly a palcard during the The Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super kings match in chennai yesterday which read, "Who said there are only 1411 tigers left, There is one here, Sachin!" ( with a pic on the side) and secondly the Ultimate placard during the Mumbai Indians vs Delhi Daredevils read “ Sachin Tendulkar— Reducing the number of atheists since 1989.” :)

Its Friday, but Sunday is Coming..

Its Friday, Jesus is praying,
Peter is asleep, Judas is betraying,
But Sunday is Coming...

Its Friday, Pilate is struggling
The Council is conspiring,
The crowd is villifying,
They dont even kno that Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, The Disciples are running like sheep without a shepherd,
Mary is crying, Peter is denying,
But they dont kno that Sundays are coming...

Its Friday, the Romans beat My Jesus,
They roll Him in scar, they crown Him with thorn,
But they dont kno that Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, See Jesus walking the Calvary,
His Blood dripping, His body Stumbling and His spirits burning,
But U see its only friday, Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, the world is winning,
people are sinning and Evil is grinning,

Its Friday, the soldiers nailed my saviours hands to the cross,
They nailed my saviours feet to the cross,
And then they raised Him up next to criminals,
Its friday, but let me tell U something, Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, the disciples are questioning what has happened to their king,
and The Pharsies are celebrating that their scheming has been achieved.
But they dont know its only friday, Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, He is hanging on the cross, Feeling forsaken by His father,
Left alone and dying. Can no body save Him.??
OOOOO Its Friday, But Sunday is coming...

Its Friday, The earth trembles,
the sky grows dark,
My king yeilds His spirit,

Its Friday, Hope is lost,
Death has won,
Sin has conquered,

Its Friday, Jesus is dead, A soldier stands guard.
A stone is rolled into place.
But its Friday, It is only Friday..
SUNDAY is a COMING...!!!

"O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?"
~~ 1 Corinthians 15:55
Often in our lives, things may seem lost and hopeless. Nothing may seem to happen as we would have wished it to. It would seem like FRIDAY... In those times, Lets just Put Our Hope in the Lord and be Still and know that: SUNDAY is COMING..

In Memoriam..!!

A hand that caressed me,
A man with all love for me,
No matter what time it may be,
He was always there for me.

Those days when I refused to go to School,
He would always keep his cool.
Convince me and comfort me,
And make me go to school very happy.

He would let me play all day,
Wishing all happiness to come my way.
'Well done my child', he would say,
Which would keep me happy n gay.

I could still feel the words he said,
Not to mention the stories he read.
Now he's gone, leavin his memories behind,
Leaving his life as an example for every God's child.

As I see the tear in my grandma's eyes,
Troubled and wondering where her future lies..
I really feel, humans desperately need a pair,
More so when they are in deep despair.

This post is dedicated to my Gradfather who has gone to be with God thru eternity.
Dear Grandpa,
Miss U so much!!, May UR soul RIP...

Bowlers' Day..!!

For the people in India, 8th march 2009 was just another normal Sunday morning. But that was gonna change pretty soon. The sight of a batsman, short in stature, standing tall, flicking the ball towards deep fine leg, scrambling for a single, removing his helmet, looking up towards the Heaven, raising the bat in acknowledgment is never new to any Indian cricket fan. In fact, it was the 43rd time that Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, the iconic Indian batsman crossed the 100 run mark in ODI's and if this record wasn't enough, this was his 1st in Kiwi land. While his place up the oreder was being debated, Sachin had a point to prove (though he has nothing much left to prove) and as always, Sachin let his bat do the talking. It was here in Kiwi land, 15 yrs back was Sachin promoted to the opening position and here he is now, still ever so dominant and still hungry for more. The little Master not just scripted his 43rd century in style but also unleashed brute force attack on the Kiwi bowlers only to retire hurt 5 overs befor the end of the innings. If Sachin would have stayed, who knows, he could have surpassed Anwar's record but Sachin being a team man, left the field once his body wasn't letting him play his strokes. Whats so amazing to see is that even after achieving almost everything, his hunger for more and his love for the game has never reduced. When This man decides to call it a day, Im sure that day will be celebrated as "Bowlers' day" world wide.. :)
