Driving home the osCARs..!!!

The Cricket crazy nation on monday, 23rd feb woke up as India scripted its Red letter day @ the Red Carpet in the Kodak Theatre, LA. The Exuberant kids from the Slumdog Millionaire crew were the highlight of the night, most people said. Yes, The 81st Annual Academy Awards ceremony had the Indian spice in almost everything. SM swept nearly all the oscars in every category it was nominated. Amidst the much hyped SM' A.R, Pookutty and Gulzar's success, there was more to cheer for every Indian as Smile Pinky, a short touching Documentary film on a real-life medical achievement won the Oscar for the best short Documentary. Thou, the speculation that SM and its Oscars belonged to the west, it cannot be denied that A.R, Pookutty, Gulzar, slum kids and Pinky are very much Indian. The Indian Destiny @ Kodak Theatre therefor cannot be denied on any grounds. The Oscars are a tribute to every hardworking Indian technician who work day in and day out to bring wonderful movies for us. I only hope that this is just the begining and there are plenty in the waiting.. May the poverty of the slum kids be aleviated and hope be restored. As said in the Bible, "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are." God used the slum kids (not the much hyped Kahns etc.) of Mumbai to drive home the much coveted osCARs for our nation... :) - "Who is like the Lord, There is no one..." :)
